Tales of Leadership exists to equip leaders to step into the arena, lead with accountability, and become the leaders this world needs.
Meet Joshua K. McMillion
Founder & Director
I’m Joshua K. McMillion — an active-duty U.S. Army Officer, acquisition professional, leadership coach, husband, father, and founder of Tales of Leadership.
I grew up in rural West Virginia, where I learned early that leadership is not about a title — it is about responsibility. Over more than 17 years of military service, including combat deployments and company command, I have seen leadership done well, and I have seen it done poorly. Those experiences shaped how I lead today: with humility, a mission-first mindset, and a deep commitment to serving people.
Tales of Leadership was built around one core belief: everyone has a story — and your story matters.
This platform is not about theory-heavy leadership. It is about real conversations, real lessons, and real leadership lived out in the military, business, family, and everyday life. My mission is to help leaders grow with purpose, integrity, and inspired action so they can become what I call Purposeful Accountable Leaders — PALs.
I have seen the cost of poor leadership — the kind that breaks trust, crushes morale, and leaves people feeling alone. But I have also seen what strong leadership can do: restore hope, build resilience, and change the trajectory of someone’s life.
That is why Tales of Leadership exists: to share stories that remind us what is possible and to challenge leaders to live by a higher standard.
